Mrs. Calvert's Class Chatter
My name is Danielle Calvert and I teach 4th grade at Oxford Elementary School in Oxford, AL. This is my 6th year teaching, and I can say I truly LOVE waking up and going to work each morning. Hopefully, this will be a new way for me to keep up with students, parents, and community members about the exciting things that are happening in our classroom!!

Whose Bucket Have You Filled Today?
Our class learned last week about being bucket fillers and bucket dippers. When you get a chance, talk with your children about this discussion we had. I think you will be very surprised to hear what they have to say. We are working daily on being "bucket fillers" for everyone in our lives. Thank you for sharing your child with me. They are filling my buckets everyday.

Next Stop -- Talladega!!!
After the design phase, it was time to make those vehicles MOVE. The kids (some of them anyways) loved being problem solvers and trying to figure out how to make their vehicles move with just rubberbands. Some of them got REALLY upset with me because they wanted me to tell them exactly what to do (Mrs. Calvert would have been in this group in school). When they were confident in their vehicle's ability to move, it was time to RACE. I must say I have some very competitive children, and if their car did NOT win, it was back to the drawing board for more modifications and strategizing.
